As an event planner, in 7 years I’ve seen people make the same mistakes. Check out some tips below on how to plan your own event without feeling overwhelmed:

1. Start months ahead of time

- Give yourself ample time to plan your event WELL. Unless certain things are impromptu, be intentional about planning ahead so you organize your finances, search through your preferences and bring order to the process. It also helps to give attendees ample time to free up their schedules for you.

2. Follow the D.V.T.G rule

- The rule is D (date) V (venue) T (time) G (guest count). When you are able to secure these things, the rest of the event becomes easy. I’ve seen people plan for everything else but these factors and by the time they are looking for what they want ESPECIALLY in a venue, it doesn’t fit their vision. As an EP[ event planner] , I ask this before anything else!

3. A budget is always needed

- I 👏🏽 can 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 stress 👏🏽 this 👏🏽 enough! It doesn’t matter how big or small your event is, you need to create a budget. Good vendors like us, are willing to work with clients if only they are forthcoming coming with their budget. I would talk more about this in subsequent posts. But please, people, BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET!

4. Have everything noted/ written down

- Plain and simple. Keeping and organizing your notes in one place would reduce your stress level and declutter your brain. Regurgitating information on your phone or in a notebook would make the event memorable!

5. Remember your event centers around you!!!

- Unless you are planning an event for someone or something else, remember your event centers around you! Whatever your vision is, whatever you want is what you SHOULD get. Don’t settle for less! Anything that you plan for yourself, would be an imprint in your memory and you don’t want to shed premium tears when your event goes left 🙃. Make the best out of the experience and ENJOY IT! - from vintagev.events on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/C9nNCO9JlLR/  - i knew bout this on 7/19/24

despite my small knowledge of anything, that MIGHT be incomplete, these are the full basic meanings of them-OR- STUFF I SHOULD KNOW ALREADY
